Brown Earth Moves To Edinburgh

Published 2006, Brown Earth Landscapes

Innovative young garden designer Claire Reading has just moved her thriving garden design business Brown Earth Landscapes to Scotland.

Previously based in London, increasing customer demand here in Scotland has led Claire to move the company north of the border with the head office now up and running in Edinburgh.

Brown Earth Landscapes is a specialist landscape design and build practise with an emphasis on the intuitive use of plants and material to create vibrant gardens with lifelong style and elegance. The incorporation of work by Scottish sculptors and artists as well as local plants and materials wherever possible is a core element in Brown Earth’s designs.

Brown Earth guides each client from conception to completion of any project and will often work alongside architects and craftsmen, making the process as seamless and stress free as possible.

Set up in 2002 by Claire Reading, Brown Earth has been involved in all manner of projects – from winning a Silver Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2004 for ‘The Woolworths Garden’ to creating the organic potager garden at The River Café in London, no project proves too daunting for the enthusiastic and energetic garden designer.

Claire says “The opportunity to move Brown Earth Landscapes here to Edinburgh and work across Scotland is extremely exciting. With spring on the way, people are starting to think about their gardens. Brown Earth has already been contacted about a rich variety of projects - plans include the creation of a wildflower meadow in the centre of Edinburgh, restoration work on a historical walled garden in Argyll and the creation of an urban ‘chill-out’ zone for a couple in their small Stockbridge garden. It’s very diverse and certainly going to keep me busy over the coming months!”.

Brown Earth Landscapes’ garden design and landscaping services cover Edinburgh, Glasgow, Midlothian, West Lothian, East Lothian, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Perthshire, Argyll, Fife, Stirlingshire and more.
